YOUTH LEADER

Roles & Responsibilities 

A Youth Leader is integral to the running of a youth night, youth could not happen without youth leaders! As a Youth Leader you will be responsible for.

ASSISTING IN THE RUNNING OF THE YOUTH MINISTRY.

Praying for the youth ministry and youth regularly.

 

Leading with a servant heart, checking what team and area you are serving on in advanced via the rota, turning up on time ready to serve.

 

Building great relationships with the youth. 

 

Supporting a Group Leader in the running of small groups when they take place.

MODELLING BIBLICAL PRIORITIES 

Model inclusive behaviours, taking account of the full diversity of the church family, and any new youth, including finding ways to support and encourage those with additional needs.

Attending an Ivy weekend service / small group gathering on a regular basis.

​

Setting appropriate boundaries with time and relationships to protect character and integrity. Develop yourself as a leader and as an ‘example believer’.

​

Speaking well of the Church, and honouring its leadership in word and deed.

​

To lead in generosity.

​

Committing to a regular quiet-time with God.

EXPECTATIONS OF A YOUTH LEADER

To be passionate about Jesus

To show honour to the youth, to one another and leadership

To lead by example of how to live in relationship with God. Furthermore, youth leaders to invest in relationship with youth and each other.

To be welcoming to everyone 

To be empowering to other one another and youth.

To be at youth 45 mins to help with set up & prayer (6:15pm on normal Sunday and 4:15pm on Social Sunday).

To stay 30 mins after to help with set down and debrief.

During the weeks of the talks youth leaders (unless given a specific role i.e. sound, visuals or games) to be sat in with the youth to help with behaviour management.

To check the google sheets (Sunday evening tab) to see where they are serving each week.

To support group leaders in the running of the groups.

To make coming to meetings a priority (meeting dates to be given in advanced)
