Pornography is one of those taboo subjects that no one like to talk about (especially in Christian circles), but in reality many people are struggling with it. One survey showed that two-thirds of 13-17 year olds said they had seen pornography - that is, explicit images of nudity or sex acts.

The thing is, God created sex to be enjoyed, and He gave us a desire for sex - and that in itself isn't a problem. However, pyrography damages relationships it's thought to be a factor in more than half of divorces. The issue is that porn takes away the real value of human beings and reduces them to nothing more than something we can get pleasure from. It wraps what God intended, and it wraps our mind and hearts in the process.

Porn isn't healthy - what Jesus says in Matthew 5:28 helps us to see that. Our Challenge, as young people, is to keep ourselves pure, knowing that God's plan for us is so much better.

Key Bible Verses

And that means killing off everything connected with that way of death: sexual promiscuity, impurity, lust, doing whatever you feel like whenever you feel like it, and grabbing whatever attracts your fancy. That’s a life shaped by things and feelings instead of by God. It’s because of this kind of thing that God is about to explode in anger. It wasn’t long ago that you were doing all that stuff and not knowing any better. But you know better now, so make sure it’s all gone for good: bad temper, irritability, meanness, profanity, dirty talk.

1 Corinthians

Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.  Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;  you were bought at a price. Therefore honour God with your bodies.
