School & EXAMS

What word would you use to describe your school or college? Perhaps you enjoy it and find certain subjects really interesting. However, maybe for you the best bit is when the bell goes for home time. Or maybe you wonder if you'll ever use equations or knowledge about different types of rocks in the real world. Even if we don't see much point in all the subjects we have to study, our education can benefit us by teaching us how to turn up on time and how to learn new things, which will help us whatever we do in the future.

There can be a lot of pressure to pass exams and do well, which can make us really anxious there will be some things you are really good at and other things not so good. God has given us each different gifts, and it's important not to compare ourselves or our grades to the person next to us. /just do the best you can with the gifts and abilities God has given you!

One Bible verse (Colossians 3:23) encourages us to work at everything we do with all our heart, and to imagine we're working for God not people. This can inspire and motivate us even when we find the teachers annoying.

Key Bible Verses

Colossians
3:23

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,

Philippians
4:6

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Luke
12:22-31

Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!  Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?“Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these. 28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them.  But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.
